What I Wore: Sunflowers

Life is bloom. I’ve just moved and it feels like the perfect fresh start I needed! For the past two years I’ve lived with my best friend in Washington Heights and taken hundred of photos on this rooftop - I’m going to miss photo sessions up there and will be posting the last batch of pictures we took before heading out throughout the next week. While I’m sad to leave my favorite backdrop behind, I’m now living in the Flatiron District and can walk to work in just under ten minutes… talk about convenience!

Now, on to the clothes! This outfit is simple and summery. It’s SO hot in NYC that I really wish walking the streets in the buff was an option, however, this light and airy outfit is a great alternative! Haha.

Get the look from Living Doll LA with this adorable Flowy Sunflower Kimono! They have some fun and playful options in plus size - definitely worth browsing.

Until next time,

What I Wore: Printed Pants

I just got back to NYC after spending a long weekend in Maine. The weather was gorgeous so I threw on this little ensemble to jaunt around town!

While I was there I had my hair colored for the first time in ages at a salon called Akari! My colorist, Taylor, killed it with these subtle balayage highlights. I’m obsessed and want more! What do you think of my new hairdo?

What I Wore: Stars In My Eyes

2013 was definitely a great year! While there were ups and downs, each moment of the last 365 days has taught me something and helped me grow as a person. I am so grateful for each and every one of you who have included me in your life and take time to check out my posts. You mean so much to me.

As the new year rolls in I am geared up to check off new goals on my list and live the best life I can!

For NYE I decided to celebrate the good things to come in this ensemble! The shirt is Lane Bryant and the denim is c/o SWAK Designs. I absolutely fell in love with these pants - I have relatively skinny legs compared to my belly so I have a hard time finding skinny jeans that fit me perfectly but SWAK nailed it!

As for accessories, the necklace is Forever21 and the pointy toe pumps are from Payless!

Until next time,

Beck

What I Wore: Longline Vest
As most of you know, I’m a tall girl at 6’3, so when I see the word ‘long’ in the description of a clothing item it piques my interest! I was ecstatic to see that longline vests are a hot item this season and immediately fell in love with this one from MYNT 1792.
This vest is extremely versatile. It looks great open and layered over just about anything but I also love it zipped up and worn as a top!
The skirt was a bargain from Conway and the shoes were snagged from Nordstom RACK! The lipstick is from Illamasqua in the shade Growl.

#LuckyFABB
I had the pleasure of attending this year’s Lucky FABB Fashion and Beauty Conference. It was such an amazing experience and I was so happy to see a lot of bloggers from the plus size realm there!
For the first day of #LuckyFABB I wore this Jessica Simpson top with cute little flower cutouts on the shoulders. This Calvin Klein skirt is my favorite recent purchase and I guarantee you’ll see me wear it again - I can’t find a link to purchase it online, however, I just found it last week at the Macy’s on 34th Street!
Since I knew I would be moving around all day I went with these super comfy sneaker wedges from Lane Bryant and added my favorite MAC lippy, Dear Diary, to finish off the ensemble!

A Purple Dress
I really love simple dresses with beautiful details. They are the purrrfect thing to throw on in a pinch and can easily be dressed up or dressed down! This Scarlett & Jo skater dress with mesh and lace detailing is a perfect example of that.
I recently wore this purple number for a night out with black peep toe pumps and a clutch. However, today I was heading out for some shopping with my mom who is visiting and decided to dress it down with these boots from Torrid! If you order these shoes from online you should know that I’m normally a size 13 and had to buy these shoes in an 11 - they run very large!
Since I love the details on this dress I went very minimal with jewelry. Though, I rarely leave the house without my go to accessory: a bold lip!

What I Wore: Date Night

So, my boyfriend is a chef and works the craziest hours ever! Since our time together is often limited by both of our crazy schedules we penciled plans to spend the evening together in our calendars. It was beautiful out so I decided to show some leg in this gorgeous Asos dress!

I paired it with these Christian Siriano for Payless shoes and a pink lip to keep the fun and playful feeling going. This outfit transitioned very well from strolling in the farmers market to a beautiful dinner outside!

What I Wore: Lace & Pink Lips
This is one of those no-brainier outfits. It’s simple but gives you a little kick of sass - which ya know I love! This shirt c/o of Scarlett & Jo is everything. The fit is on point - I haven’t stopped wearing it since it arrived!
Now, I generally hate jeans. Most denim pants make me feel suffocated so I was surprised that I actually fell in love with these pants from Ruff Hewn via Bon-Ton. Since I’m so tall I have to do a little cuff action to make them ankle jeans instead of highwaters - but I still dig the look!
The shoes are my trusty black wedge sneakers from Lane Bryant that are perfect for stomping the streets of NYC! This See By Chloe bag is my everyday go to because it can carry A LOT of stuff. The pink lippy is from the collection Beth Ditto did with MAC. If you can get your hands on it definitely add it to your collection - It’s a gem!

What I Wore: Sunny Days
After a week of unbearable heat and torrential downpours I was ecstatic to see the sun shining bright! I knew it was the perfect time to whip out this outfit.
This maxi skirt c/o SWAK is nice and long - which I love! Most maxi skirts and maxi dresses end up looking like middies on my 6’3 bod. The cropped denim vest turned top was a budget friendly find from Conway for just $13!
The jewel toned necklace is from my favorite accessory store: My best friend/roommate’s closet! (Thanks girl!)
On a personal note, this outfit makes me feel very empowered. I’ve always been comfortable with my body but I love how free it feels baring my belly, stretch marks and all! I’ve realized that people are always going to look at me - whether that’s because I’m so tall or because I’m plus size… I will never know - So I might as well wear whatever I want while they stare.

What I Wore: Going Incognito

This weekend my mom came from Maine to visit me in New York City. The beautiful weather on Saturday made me want to bare my legs in this breathable dress that Ashley Stewart sent to me. I couldn’t resist the glamorous combination of a big floppy hat and over sized sunglasses that made me feel like a movie star hiding from the paparazzi!
